Traumatic injuries that require amputation present unique challenges for building a legal case that results in adequate monetary awards to compensate for long term medical care and the costs of prosthetic equipment. This is an area where experience makes an enormous difference in the successful outcome of a case, whether it’s a settlement or jury verdict.

The Farrar & Ball team has extensive courtroom experience building the kinds of compelling cases required to obtain monetary awards for the negligence of those responsible and, importantly, for long term care and compensation. Our trial team has experience working with medical and financial experts, as well as medical illustrators, videographers and graphic artists to document past and future monetary damages in ways that jurors can really understand. It’s this kind of preparation that moves opposing parties to the settlement table with meaningful offers.

In one recent record-setting case, the Farrar & Ball trial team secured a jury verdict and a series of related settlements on behalf of a woman and her young daughter who each required amputations from a crash caused by a defective truck tire. Our team utilized nine medical, prosthetics and engineering experts to build a case that not only established liability but painted a crystal clear picture of the long term financial damages caused by the defendants.

Recent cases handled by Farrar & Ball include successfully representing a man who lost his leg in a motorcycle accident, a case involving  an 8-year-old child whose leg had to be amputated after an accident, and a number of cases in which individuals have suffered loss of fingers and hands. In litigation involving these kinds of injuries, we rely extensively on internationally respected experts, which we engage from New York to California, and from as far away as Australia.

It is our privilege and an awesome responsibility to represent individuals who have been severely injured by dangerous products and the recklessness and negligence of others. Contact us to learn more about how we can help.
